Skymningszonen

What if we sink

Skymningszonen is the ocean’s borderland between light and darkness, where photosynthesis ends and life exists under immense pressure. The trio interprets this in-between space through dance music from Agder, songs and chorales from the Nordic region and Gammalsvenskby, adorned with electronics and poetry.
The concert paints a picture, beginning in weightlessness at the surface and slowly sinking downward. Pressure builds as the water both embraces and compresses. At the seabed, a space opens where multiple emotions and perspectives can coexist—the ocean is vast, and the depth even greater.

With clarinets, violins, and saxophones, RÅ takes on Nordic folk traditions with fearless flair and a liberating voice

about RÅ:

With the unique combination of baritone saxophone, bass clarinet, and octave fiddle, and an unafraid creative drive, RÅ has crafted a powerful sound that stands out. Traditional Swedish folk music meets improvisation, rich textures, and dark bass lines in an unexpected and captivating fusion.

The Swedish-Danish trio explores and challenges traditional music with a generous mix of humor and seriousness. With their critically acclaimed debut album MASSIV, RÅ has shown that there is still new ground to break and new ways to interpret the Swedish folk music tradition.

said about RÅ:

"It's traditional Swedish music (except for one track), but quite honestly, it’s unlike any take on the past you’ve heard. This is the lumpity-bumpity version, a gleeful rise through it all by a trio using violins, saxophones, and clarinets. It's not your standard line-up, but there’s nothing standard about Massiv."
