Skymningszonen

What if we sink

The trio make ancient chorales from Swedish hymnals and dance melodies from the valleys of southern Norway come to life. A gentle sway deepens into restless yearning — a mounting tension aching for release, wrapped in the heavy, tender embrace of water’s weight.
The instrumentation is unique: music otherwise played on the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle is here rendered with double winds and low, dark strings—down-tuned and atmospheric. In the sinking descent, the musicians search for rest and a sense of safety in their mutual interplay.

With clarinets, violins, and saxophones, RÅ takes on Nordic folk traditions with fearless flair and a liberating voice

about RÅ:

said about RÅ:

"It's traditional Swedish music (except for one track), but quite honestly, it’s unlike any take on the past you’ve heard. This is the lumpity-bumpity version, a gleeful rise through it all by a trio using violins, saxophones, and clarinets. It's not your standard line-up, but there’s nothing standard about Massiv."

DIVINITAS

unlimited forgiveness and warmth

A tranquil yet deeply affecting concert experience where voice and clarinet meet in a contemporary, improvisatory soundscape.
An exploration of the Madonna of the Protective Cloak - a depiction of the Virgin Mary common during the 14th-century Black Death - through Birgittine hymns, songs of praise, and newly composed music the Madonna is cast in a new light. Who is today’s Madonna of the Protective Cloak?
With modest means, a powerful sense of presence, comfort, and reflection is created - a musical resting place amid the noise of the world.
